Battle of the Hast Shipyards
The Battle of the Hast Shipyards was a battle of the Galactic Civil War. The Empire's attack devastated the New Republic Hast Shipyards.
The battle
After the Battle of Endor, the location of the secret shipyards was discovered by Imperial agents.
An Imperial fleet suddenly and brutally attacked the shipyards. The attack inflicted heavy casualties, putting out of commission over twenty corvettes, five Nebulon-Bs, seven MC80 Star Cruisers, and thousands of personnel.[2]
The battle alone was responsible for pushing back New Republic military plans several years. The captured Star Destroyers Emancipator and Liberator were at the shipyards at the time awaiting refurbishment. Although they were not damaged in the battle, the shift of priorities put back their work for several years.[2]
