Battle of Tortali IV
The Battle of Tortali IV was a space battle between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire during which Rebel forces attempted to destroy Tortali Platform, an Imperial XQ3 supply platform in the Tortali IV system.
The Battle
The Rebel starfighters attacking Tortali Platform imitated the Battle of Yavin, with Red Squadron in X-wing space superiority fighters escorting Gold Squadron in venerable Y-wing attack starfighters. Meanwhile, Tortali Platform deployed TIE interceptors and bombers to counter the starfighter threat. Rebel forces held a force of A-wing interceptors from Blue Squadron in reserve to reinforce Red and Gold Squadrons. The Empire, meanwhile, sent Strike-class cruiser Huntsman and associated Assault Gunboats to support the outmatched defenders of Tortali Platform.
Behind the scenes
As players can participate in the mission "Attack on Tortali Platform" in the computer game Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter on either the Rebel or the Imperial side—both sides have conflicting mission objectives—and victory is not essential to access the next set of missions, the battle itself is considered canon but the canon outcome is unknown.
