An Authority Merchant Marine Academy was an institution for the training of potential members of the Corporate Sector Authority's merchant fleet. Prior to enlistment in the Authority's merchant navy, training was required at one of the academies. Crew members aboard merchant vessels held diverse military-like ranks and were sometimes members of various interstellar trade unions. There was an Authority Merchant Marine academy located on the planet of Bonadan, in 2 BBY.
