Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka: "Gunda, Wicket! You found the aura blossoms!"
Wicket Wystri Warrick: "[Laughs] At least the drought left us a few. They'll make great decorations for the Festival of Hoods tomorrow night."
Teebo: "Oh! They're not aura blossoms. They're fire folk."
―The Ewoks mistake Wisties for aura blossoms — (audio) Listen (file info)[2]

Aura blossoms were an exquisite species of indigo-blue, bioluminescent flower that grew in abundance on the Forest Moon of Endor. They were a favorite of the native Ewok population.[1]

In 3 ABY,[3] following months of drought on Endor, the young Ewoks Wicket Wystri Warrick, Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka, Latara, and Teebo were tasked by Bozzie to find aura blossoms for decorating the Festival of Hoods. After tumbling down a hill, Warrick found a group of Wisties—diminutive, bioluminescent beings—which he mistook for aura blossoms. Teebo pointed out Warrick's error, and the Wisties took flight.[2]

Behind the scenes

Aura blossoms were first mentioned in "The Cries of the Trees,"[2] the pilot episode of the animated television series Ewoks. The episode was written by Paul Dini and premiered on September 7, 1985.[4]
