Asher III
Asher III was a terrestrial astronomical object[3] located in the Asher system, a part of the Sprizen sector[1] in the New Territories portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance maintained a cell on Asher III. When the pilot Delt Nerris, who was sympathetic to the Alliance, hijacked the Corellian Security Force starship Nova Whisper, the vessel was turned over to the Rebels. The Alliance cell on Asher III subsequently used Nova Whisper as a medical transport.[3]
Shortly before the Battle of Hoth[3] of 3 ABY,[4] the Rodian arms dealer Lernik De'Yago attempted to sell a shipment of weapons to the Alliance on Asher III. However, before De'Yago could receive his payment, the Galactic Empire tracked down the Asher III cell and moved to destroy the Rebel presence there. The Empire seized De'Yago's shipment and eliminated most of the Rebel presence on Asher III, while De'Yago stole the Nova Whisper and used it to escape the celestial body.[3]
Behind the scenes
Asher III was mentioned in Stock Ships, a 1997 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Asher system, and therefore Asher III, in grid square N-5.[2]
