Aquaris launching platform

A launching platform is a submersible landing platform located on the planet Aquaris. It was owned by the intergalactic pirate and smuggling group, the Aquaris Freeholders. When a ship is about to land, the launching platform rises out of the sea to allow it to land.

One such platform was used by the crew of the Millennium Falcon to arrive on Aquaris regarding recruiting the Aquaris Freeholders into the Rebel Alliance. After the deputy commander, Kraaken, turned traitor, Han Solo and Kraaken fought on the deck of the landing platform, the former having become privvy to his treacherous actions due to an encounter with a demonsquid.

Behind the scenes

The launching platforms bore large resemblance to real-life Supercarriers.
