An air scrubber was a device used on starships to recirculate the air. Air scrubbers would be more or less efficient depending how many people were on a starship.

During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Han Solo installed better air scrubbers on the Millennium Falcon due to the large number of refugees Solo transported increasing demands on the Falcon's systems.
