Adnerem precursor species

A species of primitive mammalian scavenger/hunters evolved on the Expansion Region planet of Adner. Members of the species were semi-social and lived in tribes ranging in size from five to twenty individuals. The species eventually evolved into the sentient Adnerem species, who maintained their precursors species' social units, which became known as steri.

Behind the scenes

The precursor species to the Adnerem was first mentioned in 1996, when author Timothy S. O'Brien mentioned them in an entry in his article "Alien Encounters" as part of the Adnerem section, published in Star Wars Adventure Journal 11, published by West End Games. The article was republished in a reduced form, still mentioning the precursor species, in the book Alien Encounters in 1998, a collection of alien species compiled by Paul Sudlow.
