Aa'kua was a Socorran concept that called for respect of an individual's territorial lines, personal property, and personal rights. The word meant "respecting space" and could be translated to mean "his or her space." Violations of aa'kua were considered to be a serious crime. This could be achieved in several ways, such as stealing, cheating on a business deal, lying for personal gain, breaching the terms of a contract, breaking your word, murder, harassment, and some forms of slander.[1]
