19-96 Kinetic Absorption Panels were a type of padded pauldron.[2] The Human smuggler Dash Rendar was often seen wearing these panels and used them throughout his career.[1]
Behind the scenes
19-96 Kinetic Absorption Panels were created for the multimedia project Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire,[3] and first appeared in Shadows of the Empire 2[4], published June 1, 1996.[5] It was not until 2021, however, that they were given an official name, first mentioned by Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes Community Manager "Doja Fett" in tandem with the announcement that Rendar would be coming to the mobile game. Humorously, the numerical designation of the absorption pads matches the release year of Shadows of the Empire.[1]
