The "Defender" deflector shield generator, also known as the "Defender" Deflector Screen Projector, and "Defender" line projector, was a model of deflector shield generator manufactured by Chempat Engineered Defenses. The system was used by Incom Corporation in their T-65 X-wing starfighter. Projectors were positioned along the starfighter's wings and tail for full coverage.[1]

It was capable of generating both ray and particle shields. Thanks to this unit, the X-wing was able to withstand greater amounts of punishment than Imperial fighters of the same era.

This type of shielding was later used on the Imperial Guard TIE Interceptor.
