Darth Vader held the title while commanding Black Squadron

Black Leader was a call sign used by various starfighter unit commanders:

• Juno Eclipse was called "Black Leader" when place in command of Black Eight Squadron.
• Darth Vader is attributed with the moniker "Black Leader" when commanding Black Squadron.
• Hodo was called "Black Leader" or "Black One" while leading Black Flight.
