Black Falcon Ltd.
Black Falcon Ltd. was a subsidiary of Lucasfilm Ltd. that was formed in February 1978 to handle the merchandising for Star Wars.[1] Black Falcon was mainly used in 1979 on various merchandise items including books, cassettes, bed sheets, curtains and promotional photographs.[2]
Suzy Rice, who created the famous Star Wars logo, and Kathie Broyles together developed the logo for the company. The company was short-lived, however, and merchandise began to be licensed under the Lucasfilm name by the second half of 1979. On December 1, 1979, Black Falcon completely merged into Lucasfilm.[1]
