The Battle of Roche took place during the Galactic Civil War. In the months following the Battle of Yavin, Rebel Alliance Commander Ackbar and Verpine engineers worked in the Roche asteroid field in order to develop the new B-wing starfighter. However, after learning that the project was nearing completion, Imperial District Commander Bane Nothos instituted a blockade of the Roche system and attacked the Research Station Shantipole to recover the prototypes.^[1]
