Baffle (component)

A baffle was an engine component designed to alter the direction of a sublight drive's exhaust. The resulting shift in direction subsequently altered the starship's trajectory.

Baffles were also used in a starship's fresh water tanks. A series of baffles reduced the motion of the water during space flight.
