Z'gag/Legends
- "This is a song of my home colony, you see. It's called 'By the Banks of the Warm, Pink Z'gag.' It's played at cocoon-weaving time, when the cycle's crop of larvae gather to go chrysalis. At the same time the previous cycle's cocoons open and the chroma-wings come forth to exude their pheromones, which draw them to one another. The air is sweet and light then; gaiety is there. This adventuring has been educational, but most of it is nothing more than danger and hardship a very long way from home. If I were ever to come to the banks of the Z'gag again, I would never leave!"

The Z'gag was a river on the planet Ruuria, near which the K'zagg Colony of Ruurians made their home. Known for its warm, pink waters, the Z'gag was the place where Ruurians of the K'zagg Colony spun their chrysalis once they reached the end of their larval stage and later emerge as chroma-wings, soaring in the skies above and focusing exclusively on mating. The Z'gag held a great romantic appeal to the natives of the colony, and its waters were immortalized in a song called "By the Banks of the Warm, Pink Z'gag."[1]
Behind the scenes
The Z'gag was first mentioned in Han Solo and the Lost Legacy, a novel written by Brian Daley and released in 1980.[1]
