Antar/Legends
Antar was a gas giant in the Prindaar system, surrounded by six moons, four of which supported life.
History
Discovered by the Galactic Republic between 25,000 BBY and 22,000 BBY, the gas giant Antar was considered from this time under the control of the Republic along with its moons, Antar 4 and 5.[2]
Antar 4 was inhabited by the Gotal race. During the Clone Wars, one of Antar's uninhabited moons was damaged as the CIS battleship, the Malevolence, attempted to jump into hyperspace, but drove directly into the moon.[4]
The Gotal homeworld of Antar 4 had a highly unusual orbit around its gas giant star, which caused extreme variations in the amount of light striking the planet on any given day. The Gotals were well adapted to their unique conditions. There was generally no organized central government. Given the planet's Separatist past, the Imperials closely watched the system for any signs of Rebel activity or sympathetic actions, a task made more difficult by the decentralized nature of Gotal society.[5]
