Wooly-nerfs were a subspecies of the nerf.

When Corran Horn was infiltrating with the Khuiumin Survivors (using the alias Jenos Idanian), he tried to convince the pirates to use non-lethal tactics for raiding ships and colonies, citing as an example the greater gains from fleecing a wooly nerf as opposed to skinning it.
