Vacuum Tube
A Vacuum Tube, also known as a Jump Booster, is a chute that allowed rapid travel to great heights. Air pressure in the tube carried an individual entering it to a higher level. The variety of places Vacuum Tubes were used include docking bays, Jawa sandcrawlers, and the first Death Star.
Behind the scenes
A guide to the 1991 Star Wars video game in Nintendo Power magazine referred to these devices as "Jump Boosters."
