During the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic staged an ambush on an Imperial convoy in the Laramus system. Acting on information obtained by spies, the Alliance cruiser Visseon II decanted from hyperspace in the Laramus system to attack a well-armed Imperial convoy. The Imperial convoy accelerated to escape Laramus' gravity well, splitting in two to force the Visseon II to choose a target. Once the cruiser committed to the pursuit, the Imperial force split again, once more forcing the Visseon II to select a target to chase. Once the cruiser had committed again, the remaining Imperial transports regrouped to escape, while the Imperial escort vessels converged on the Visseon II, sure that the Rebel ship was easy prey.[1]

With the escort ships engaged in their pursuit of the Visseon II, a flight of T-6 X-wing starfighters, accompanied by several shuttles, emerged from hyperspace in front of the Imperial transports. The X-wings promptly destroyed on transport and ordered the others to shut down their engines and prepare to be boarded. The shuttles delivered commandoes to the transports, capturing them and their contents.[1]

The escort vessels, trading shots with the Visseon II, eventually realized what was happening to the convoy and broke off their attack on the cruiser to assist. The X-wings delayed the Imperial escorts long enough for the transports to jump to lightspeed. With no transports to protect, the Imperial escorts disengaged and fled. The Alliance captured fourteen transports with no losses.[1]
