Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

A Human male Imperial Advisor was one of only a few hundred of his kind who were genuinely loyal to Emperor Palpatine's New Order and was therefore appointed as a member of the Imperial Ruling Council during the Galactic Civil War. In 4 ABY, the Advisor was one of six who accompanied the Emperor to the Death Star II battlestation shortly before the Battle of Endor, in which he was killed when the Death Star was attacked and destroyed by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

A Human male served the Galactic Empire[2] as an Imperial Advisor[4] during the Galactic Civil War against the Alliance to Restore the Republic.[2] For being one of the few hundred Advisors who were genuinely loyal to Emperor Palpatine and his New Order, the Advisor was appointed to the Imperial Ruling Council, which was also known as the Emperor's Inner Circle. The Imperial Ruling Council was based on the galactic capital planet of Coruscant,[4] and its members were allowed private audiences with the Emperor.[3] While Palpatine ruled the galaxy, the Advisors managed the Empire and carried out the Emperor's will.[5]

The Imperial Advisors' duties consisted of overseeing both their home systems and those of rival Advisors as well as administrative duties that included appointing Imperial governors and Moffs. Imperial Advisors wore lavish robes as an indication of their status,[5] and the Advisor wore a robe that was red and black in color.[2]

In the year 4 ABY,[1] the red-and-black-robed Advisor was one of six Advisors who accompanied Emperor Palpatine to the Imperial Death Star II battlestation, in construction over the Forest Moon of Endor. The group arrived aboard the Death Star in Palpatine's private shuttle and landed in one of the Death Star's hangar bays, where they were greeted by an assembly of Imperial personnel and by Palpatine's Sith apprentice, Darth Vader. The Advisors accompanied Palpatine and Vader as the pair departed the hangar. A short time later, the Death Star was attacked by the Alliance during the Battle of Endor,[2] and all six of the Emperor's Advisors were killed in the station's destruction.[1]

Personality and traits

The red-and-black-robed Advisor's position in the Imperial Ruling Council was a testament to his loyalty to Palpatine and the New Order.[4] He had pale skin and brown eyebrows.[3]

The Emperor's Advisors were first referenced, as "the Emperor's courtiers," in the 1983 novelization of the film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi[6] before appearing in the film itself later the same year.[2] The Imperial Advisors' outfits were designed by Nilo Rodis-Jamero, who was inspired by the outfits of Catholic bishops.[7]

In 2003, a Return of the Jedi production photo of the red-and-black-robed Advisor and four of the five others was included in a StarWars.com article, with text that read, "Among the members of Palpatine's Inner Circle are: Sate Pestage, Janus Greejatus, Sim Aloo, Ars Dangor, and Kren Blista-Vanee."[8] This led to certain fan confusion, in which the red-and-black-robed Advisor was interpreted to be Sate Pestage,[9] given that Pestage had previously been identified in the Expanded Universe wearing a similar headpiece.[10] However, the 2013 2013 Topps Star Wars Galactic Files Series 2 card set reveals that all six Advisors aboard the Death Star were killed during the Battle of Endor,[1] while Pestage is established to have lived past the Battle of Endor,[11] thus eliminating any connection between the two characters.
