Tuskbeasts were a non-sentient species native to the planet Kintan. They were considered dangerous and so were driven to extinction by the Nikto species.

Biology and appearance

Tuskbeasts were a non-sentient species of animal that possessed gray-colored eyes. They were capable of growing to a giant size.[1]

History

The tuskbeast species was native to the planet Kintan[1] in the Kintan system[2] of the Si'Klaata Cluster in Hutt Space. Mutations that occurred over several thousand years led to the evolution of the species. These mutations were caused by a large dose of radiation which originated from M'dweshuu, a star located at the heart of the Si'Klaata cluster, going nova. The species were considered fearsome monsters[1] and so, due to the threat they posed the sentient Nikto species who were also native to Kintan, the sentients drove them to extinction.[3] The Nikto used weapons named Tuskbeast pikes,[4] which were made from the ivory and bone of slain tuskbeasts.[5]

Behind the scenes

Tuskbeasts were first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies a 1995 supplement book released as part of the Galaxy Guide series for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. The species was mentioned in the entry for the Nikto species, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo. They were later mentioned in the supplement book Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds, which was made for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game by Wizards of the Coast in 2004 and written by a number of authors.
