Toombs was a Colonel serving in the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Special Forces. Toombs assisted in planning Operation Cobolt, and, along with Gideon, led the assault teams assigned to penetrate the Imperial orbital base over Mantooine to recover a new Imperial Intelligence Scandoc decoding computer.[2] Toombs was killed during the operation, and Madine requested permission from Mon Mothma to recommend Toombs for posthumous promotion and commendation.[1]
