Algunnis asteroid belt
A large asteroid belt orbited the Algunnis binary star in the Algunnis system.
Description
Located in the Mid Rim's Algunnis system[1] in the Trax sector, a large asteroid belt was the sole orbit.[2]
History
The asteroid field in the Algunnis system was theorized by Imperial scientists to have been formed during the formation of the galaxy, created from planets ensnared by Algunnis as it traveled past them. The planets were then torn apart by the gravitational stresses to form a massive asteroid field. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, the belt was home to several space slugs but no settlers.[2]
