The Telling of the Story was a Kitonak custom performed by the tribes once a camp had been established for the night. One story would be told every night, with individual Kitonaks embellishing the story. The purpose of the stories was to instruct young members of the tribe in the virtues of taking life slowly and cultivating patience.
