"I think this and Star Wars: Dark Empire were where I really fell for Dorman. My room as a kid was PURE nerdery"
―Taurin Clarke, on Dave Dorman, an early Star Wars influence[4]

Taurin Clarke (born May 19[1] in Brooklyn, New York, United States) is an American[2] comic book artist[3] and illustrator.[2] Growing up,[4] Star Wars: Dark Empire cover artist Dave Dorman[5] was a major influence on him.[4]

For the Star Wars franchise, Clarke illustrated a variant cover with colorist Jesus Aburtov for the second issue of[3] the 2021 Marvel Comics series Star Wars: The High Republic.[6] The variant, sold exclusively at Golden Apple Comics, depicts Jedi Knight Keeve Trennis facing a gang of Nihil raiders. On January 18, 2021, ahead of the issue's release, Clarke revealed a grayscale version of the variant cover.[3] While illustrating the cover, he listened to the Finale track from the soundtrack of[7] the 1980 film[8] Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back extensively.[7]
