A Survey Frigate was a type of starship used by Imperial Survey Teams to travel to the various planets and moons the team investigated. It carried crew, vehicles and equipment needed to launch survey missions.

IX3244-B, the Survey Team to discover the forest moon of Endor, launched their operation from an orbiting Survey Frigate.
