Super-conducting filament
Super-conducting filaments were weapon components integral to the function of pulse rifles. The filaments regulated the hundreds of discharges into a single, coherent beam. The filaments had short lifespans, and could explode if overused. To counter this, the weapons had overload circuits designed to shut the weapon down in emergencies.[1]
