A subspace radio antenna was a horseshoe-shaped magnet wrapped in layers of super-conductive wire, used to generate the intense magnetic fields required to send subspace transmissions. The wire used to wrap the magnet was exceptionally thin, requiring over ten kilometers of wire to fully cover the U-shaped frame.
