Ship of the line
A ship of the line was a term for a heavy capital ship in the Galactic Republic Navy[1] and Imperial Navy.[2]
History
Heavier cruisers and battleships in the Republic Navy were often termed ships of the line when part of the naval unit known as a "section". The section in turn was called a "line" when encompassing groups of heavier warships.[1]
In the Imperial Navy, the individual Imperial-class Star Destroyers were made into lines by themselves.[2]
