Sensor decoy
A sensor decoy was a device such as a small pod or shuttle[1] that emitted electromagnetic and holographic signals[2] that mimicked the signals emitted by a larger starship.[1] They were effective at fooling a pursuer at long range,[2] and only sensitive sensors could tell the difference between the decoys and the actual ship.[1]
