Scimitar 1
Scimitar 1 was a TIE/sa bomber[2] manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems.[1] By 4 ABY,[4] the bomber was part of the Imperial Navy's Scimitar Squadron,[2] an elite bomber wing.[3] Scimitar 1 was equipped with an advanced targeting system to increase damage during planetary bombardment.[2]
Scimitar 1 was flown by the TIE pilot Major Rhymer, who led Scimitar Squadron.[3] Prior to the Battle of Endor, Rhymer and the squadron were stationed in the Endor system and were tasked with destroying any ground troops or equipment that might land on the Forest Moon of Endor,[5] which contained the shield generator protecting the Galactic Empire's orbiting second Death Star battlestation.[6]
Behind the scenes
In 2000, Scimitar 1 was created for Death Star II Limited, an expansion set of Decipher, Inc.'s Star Wars Customizable Card Game.[2]
