Samona was the daughter of Rebel agents Harovan Toth and Tisha Rostek, who met and fell in love on Dantooine during the first days of the Rebel Alliance.

Tisha Rostek died during the Battle of Thovinack. After that, Harovan Toth sent his daughter to the Rebel safeworld Isis, to live with dissenters from Harovan's native planet Reynon.
