Rseik
- "We aren't barons or anything, but we have our family holdings, investments on Ma'ar Shaddam and Rseik proper […]"
- ―Memoirs of Firmus Kett
Rseik was a terrestrial astronomical object[3] located within the Rseik system, a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Rseik sector.[1] It was the homeworld of the sentient Rseikharhl species.[4][5] At some point following 214 BBY, the Kett family maintained investments on Rseik, a fact which was noted in the memoirs of the Trade Defense Force captain Firmus Kett.[3]
Behind the scenes
Rseik was originally meant to be mentioned in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart; however, the section that would have mentioned the celestial body was cut before the book's release.[3]
The information regarding Rseik was later released in 2014 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Erich Schoeneweiss containing various cut content from The Essential Guide to Warfare.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Rseik system, and therefore the celestial body itself, in grid square N-20.[2]

The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion on the Jedi Council Forums (Literature board; posted by jasonfry on December 11, 2007, 7:59am; accessed March 6, 2016): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats Rseik system, and specifically Rseik, as one such homeworld with regard to the Rseikharhl species.
