A reinforced battlegroup, or assault battlegroup, was a formation of the Imperial Army.[1]
History
The 1st Tapani Assault Battlegroup was garrisoned in the Tapani sector during the Galactic Civil War.[1]
Organization
A reinforced battle group was comprised of two line regiments, an assault regiment, an armor regiment, and battlegroup headquarters. It included 14,890 personnel, 676 repulsorcraft, and 212 heavy tanks. The battlegroup was considered to the most versatile in the order of battle, with a mixture of both firepower and durability.[1]
Reinforced battlegroups could be augmented by the addition of an artillery regiment, two assault regiments, and a repulsorlift regiment.[2]
