5P8 was a Prowler-class reconnaissance vessel of the New Republic Defense Fleet.
Attached to the New Republic Fifth Battle Group during the Black Fleet Crisis, 5P8 discovered the drifting TIE/IN interceptor of Plat Mallar while scanning the space surrounding the Koornacht Cluster.
