"I docked too long at Ord Zat about six seasons ago, and right before my second jump afterward, I noticed the Belle wasn't handling like she usually does."
―A captured smuggler[4]

Ord Zat was a world[5] located in the Ord Zat system, a part of the Jospro sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It served as an Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost for the Galactic Republic during the Pius Dea Era, a period of time that lasted between 12,000 BBY and 11,000 BBY.[3]

At some point before[4] the death of the Imperial Governor Wilek Nereus of the[6] Wild Space[7] planet Bakura in 4 ABY,[6] the smuggler starship Belle docked at Ord Zat. During the vessel's stay there, which its captain described as overly long, it became infested with the starship pests known as rat roaches. The ship's crew discovered the infestation after leaving the star system, and Nereus later recorded the captain's brief account of the visit at Ord Zat after the latter had been captured and interrogated.[4]

Behind the scenes

Ord Zat was first mentioned in The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook, a 1996 sourcebook published for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Ord Zat system, and therefore the world itself, in grid square S-7.[2]
