Ootoowergs were vegetables that were often served with a Kommerken steak. When Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa visited Mimban, they ordered such a meal in a restaurant.

During the Galactic Civil War, a group of privateers from the Far Orbit were to meet an agent of the Rebel Alliance at Lean Nuuti Bar and Grill on StarForge Station. The group were to identify themselves to the agent by ordering flangth and ootoowergs with Shasa ale.
