Nu was a letter in the Tionese alphabet. Nu was often used as a call sign for Imperial starfighter flight groups, specifically Assault Gunboats. An Assault Gunboat designated Nu 1 served in the Galactic Civil War.
Nu was also the surname of the individuals Jocasta Nu, Koobis Nu, and Risso Nu, as well as the given name of the Ithorian Nu Toreena.
