The 1st Tapani Assault Battlegroup was the Imperial Army's central unit in the Tapani sector.

During the Galactic Civil War, the 1st Tapani was led by Major General Tessala Corvae from its headquarters on Tallaan. It was involved in the Rout of Spuma and Humiliation of Barkhesh, although with significant cost in the latter event due to losing a fifth of its troopers to acid rain.^[1]
