11-17-series mining droid

11-17 mining droids were independent mole miners. They were made by Slayn & Korpil and Roche Hive Mechanical Apparatus Design and Construction Activity for Those Who Need the Hive's Machines. 11-17s were equipped with a large plasma drill, a telescoping circular saw and a blow torch. To protect it against rockslides, the 11-17 had durasteel armor plating. Such droids were used on Hosk Station.

They had well-developed personality, and would have strong loyalty to their owners. The droids were known to rescue miners trapped in cave-ins. They would also put off recharging and work extra hours when a project was facing a deadline.
