Mephitis

Mephitis was the Mephitisian homeworld. The indigenous people had no sense of smell. Offworlders found the entire planet's atmosphere to have a foul stench.

Behind the scenes

In Roman mythology, Mefitas was a goddess synonymous with poisonous vapors emitted from the ground in swamps. The Mephitisians and their homeworld are a clear allusion to Mefitas.
