Melx was a fair-haired male youth who was a member of the Khuiumin Survivors, a pirate group led by the Human Jacob Nive. During the Galactic Civil War, the Survivors raided Imperial convoys in the Elrood sector and in response, the Empire dispatched the Star Destroyer Brazen to the sector. Melx subsequently made his way to the bridge of the Backstab, a CR90 corvette captained by Nive, to inform Nive of the Brazen's deployment.
