The medal of honor was a decoration consisting of a gold, ten-point medal emblazoned with a symbol and attached to a red, white, and blue ribbon. It was a high-class award offered to people deserving of recognition.

Princess Leia Organa awarded Luke Skywalker a medal of honor for destroying a maverick moon on a collision course with the planet housing the New Academy for Space Pilots.
