Mechanical flaps,[2] also known as merchnical control flaps[1] were part of an airspeeder's design. They assisted with maneuverability,[2] as well as the airspeeder's ability to brake and change direction. The aerodynamic design of the flaps allowed the vehicle to make turns without reducing speed, making their course impossible for flight-predictor sensors to track.[1]
