Mass sensor

A mass sensor or a mass shadow sensor was a type of sensor. They were used aboard starships to detect mass while a vessel was traveling through hyperspace. If a dangerous mass shadow was detected in the ship's flight path, then it would trigger the hyperdrive inhibitor, forcing the ship into realspace.
