Leak-seeker balloon
A leak-seeker balloon was part of a starships environmental system. When a hull breach was detected, leak-seeker balloons were released and carried towards the rupture by the escaping air. Once they hit the area surrounding the hole, the balloon burst, covering the hole and plugging it with quick-drying sealant.
