Laser lathe

Laser lathes were high-precision, high energy lasers used to repair equipment. The part to be repaired was carefully placed on a grid encased in laser-resistant cowling. Then the operator sat at the chair and scanned the part via holocam, and would input the precise angle, length and strength of burn in the control pad.

The maintenance section of the Black Ice had one of these devices.
