Laser battery
A laser battery was a form of starship laser weapon that used a self-contained atomic battery to generate electromagnetic energy. The laser batteries were large weapons, unsuited for small starships. They were also much more powerful than laser cannons. The down side was that the laser batteries generated intense amounts heat, and had to be cooled after each shot.
