Admiral Kiner served the Galactic Republic as a counterintelligence officer. By the rise of the Galactic Empire, Kiner was considered to be the last respected counterintelligence agent. It was believed that Imperial Intelligence's Renik branch derived their name from Kiner's by reversing it.
